Basically Bach

Artist: Rhett Barnwell

Rhett Barnwell has collected some of J. S. Bach’s most popular works and arranged them for solo lever or pedal harp. The pieces range in level from advanced beginner through advanced player, making the collection very useful for students or anyone looking for an instant repertoire builder. Also included are several pieces with vocal parts in German, with English translations. The pieces are  in various keys, with the more advanced pieces having multiple accidentals. Included are:

Amanda Whiting and Tony Robinson present this set of eight jazzy original solos for intermediate-level harpists. These pieces make jazz fun and accessible on the harp. Two of them are playable on the lever harp, and the rest are best suited to the pedal harp. Included in this collection are:

Scott Joplin Collection

Artist: Erin Freund

Erin Freund has arranged a collection of six rags by Scott Joplin for solo pedal harp. Each arrangement is as true as possible to the piano original score, while taking advantage of enharmonic options. These rags feature challenging pedal changes and are fully edited with pedal changes and suggested fingerings. Included are:

The Garden Path

Artist: Christa Grix

The Garden Path is an original suite of five musical reflections for solo lever or pedal harp that “takes the listener on a walk through the garden,” says composer Christa Grix. “Each movement reflects the spirit of a different flower or plant. The intermediate level harpist will find enjoyment and inspiration from this collection—and it will challenge the harpist to try some new techniques.” An interesting and engaging choice for recital programs, “this is a collection that is sure to delight and captivate the listener,” says Grix. Ave Maria Collection

Artist: Jaymee Haefner

Jaymee Haefner’s harp-friendly “Ave Maria” collection includes a version for solo pedal harp, as well as accompaniment versions in four keys, which can be used with harp and voice or another melody instrument. Haefner has cleverly provided a solution for repeated notes in the original composition by Schubert. Also included are vocal parts in three languages. This collection includes all of the versions that you would need to have on hand to perform this very popular work!
