La Paloma

This popular habanera “La Paloma” (The Dove), originally composed around 1850 by the Spanish Basque composer Sebastian Yradier, appears here in an arrangement for three lever or pedal harps by Shari Pack. There are two lever changes in the first and second harp parts. The rhythmic pattern of a dotted eighth note plus a sixteenth note appears in all parts, indicating the movement of a Spanish dance. There are also triplet patterns and knocking patterns, all of which are fun to hear and to play.
