Henry Mancini’s popular tune “Moon River” has been arranged here for solo lever or pedal harp by Michelle Whitson Stone. Written in the key of C, the piece has three lever/pedal changes. It can be played on a 34-string lever harp. Stone says: “Great piece for dipping your toes in the water of pop and jazz!” (See video, below.)

I have been taking harp lessons for years, but, frankly, I am still just learning. This is the first song I have played that I truly “feel” the music. There is a dramatic flow and movement to the arrangement that, even without looking at the dynamics, or using a metronome, I can sense the rhythm and tone. Of course, this has always been one of my favorite songs, and, I’m sure most would agree that it is a beautiful composition, but, I think Michelle’s arrangement brings out the best of the harp instrument in playing it. My fellow young harpist friend said it well. “I have heard this sung by Andy Williams, but when you play it, I feel transported back to Audrey Hepburn!”

I love this piece. Especially the introduction. Not to hard to learn

Lovely piece! I always like to have some familiar sounding songs in my repertoire and this one is perfect for that. The intro and outtro are beautiful.
